Advanced Classes
Advanced and Hybrid Classes which are a little harder to gain your ranks in.
1. MAGE SPECIALIZATIONS
2. GUILD MASTERS
This is the only rank allowed to level 5 for the work and power they have achieved. They focus on one class to the fullest of its abilities, granting them slight power over the Paragons and Paragon trainers.
3. DUAL CLASS
There is still technically no Dual Class training. Paragons are your doorway to a Dual Class.
So how does this work?
Imagine you are a mage and you have ranked up through your Guild and completed your training to level four, but you have grown bored or there is no place for you to go with your role play. You might decide to opt into training in a new class. Let us choose Warrior for this exercise. You join your new guild and begin to role play your way into your new warrior class training.
Do you then forget everything you have learned as a mage?
The answer is no. You do not lose your knowledge of the Class you first trained in, but you cannot access the abilities of the previous class while you are training in a second class. You can, however, use minor level training exercises that you learned when starting as a mage. These are often known as cantrips. You cannot use anything more than that until you make the choice to master using both classes as one. This is called taking the Paragon Path. Paragons are the only players sanctioned to Dual Class.
How do you become a Paragon?
To become a Paragon Class you must register your intention with your Guild Master. Once that is done your Guild Master will contact the Realm Leader and the Conclave. Your process to be accepted will then be discussed among the Conclave and they will decide if you are sanctioned to begin your path along the Paragon. If accepted, you will then progress to learning how to meld the combination of the two classes you have chosen.
You do not get the ability to role play using powers of both classes until you are:
1. Accepted as a paragon, and
2. Have gone up the ladder to the rank necessary to be that paragon.
Only then can you use your powers from both classes in combination.
What if all the Paragon slots for your realm are already filled?
Does this mean that you cannot use both your powers until a vacant spot becomes available?
You can still get accepted into the Paragon class even if it is full on the realm you play in.
So long as you are accepted, you can begin to role play the melding of your abilities from your two classes.
You just cannot advance down the Paragon path you have chosen until a place opens up on your realm.
In addition to this, note that you are not fully trained in the use of your combined classes. So this must show in your role play abilities for your rank. You will not be able to use higher abilities until the spot opens up. You will, however, be able to train in the first level of the Paragon. That is as far as you can go until the spot is opened.
What then about the rule of being able to switch your class when on the Field of Battle?
You are always going to use the current class you are training in, unless otherwise stated by your General. This is due to the fact that there may not be enough of a class on the Battle Field. This is the only time crossing classes is allowed. This is not the same as being Dual Classed.
4. PARAGONS
Paragon Classes are classes that can only be unlocked by achieving Archetype status in a certain field, but not attaining Archetype rank in that field (completing full training of level four). There is much more that may pertain to this set of classes.
Firstly, you will want to begin by attaining the ability to rank into Archetype within one of the paths that you are looking at training in along the Paragon Path. Then, once you feel you wish to pursue one of these paths to the end, notify your Guild Master of your current Guild. They will be able to begin the long process of readying you for one of these paths.
The leveling for these is as follows. 4.1, 4.2, 4.3, 4.4 and 4.5. No ranks higher than this can be attained. Guild Masters retain rank 4 on the meter but 4.5 in power. There will be one trainer per Paragon class. There can be aids, or leaders in other realms, yet only one main trainer within the GA. They, with the approval of the Conclave and Magician, will decide who else can aid them in the training.
Note: To avoid confusion upon opening the following cards, please note that there are several titles and ranks. Combination names are the profession name, whereas the rank titles are just that. So for a Paladin, a Champion is the combination class. Whereas if that Paladin were rank 4.5 then they would be called by title Paladin. Combine or use as you see fit.
5. GA RANK STRUCTURE
There are several Ranks specific to the Great Alliance which shall be discussed here.
These are held in addition to whatever Class the player already maintains.
Rank Structure of the Magical Classes:
The Magician
The Conclave
The Magus, The Magisters, and The Magister Apprentices
The LoreMaster and The LoreKeepers
The Archetypes
The Experts
The Acolytes
The Initiates
-- The Magician
Mysterious and enigmatic. No given information. There can be Only One.
-- The Conclave
The Conclave is comprised of the Magisters and their Apprentices.
Each has been hand-selected and serves at the pleasure of The Magician.
-- Magus
Magus is a Rank which is no longer open in the Great Alliance, and there is no active Magus.
Individuals who have held this rank in the past have been granted the title of Magus Emeritus ("Retired Magus").
A Magus is essentially an individual that has become One with the Arts.
He or she has mastered all three lines of magical casting, and is the very Balance of the Arts embodied.
A Magus is an expert in each of the Three Fields. However, as there is no one specialty, there are limitations in each ability.
-- Magister
There are ONLY 3 Magisters. Each is a Master of a particular aspect of Aligning Forces.
The White Magister is aligned with Good/Light, and leads The White Robes.
The Red Magister is aligned with Neutrality/Balance, and leads The Red Robes.
The Black Magister is aligned with Evil/Dark and leads The Black Robes.
Regardless of each Magister's Alignment, the Arts outweigh any personal differences and they work together for the Betterment of its proliferation. A Magister can play as Archetype of ANY class and use the weapons and armor of that class accordingly in battle.
Magisters can use any Single Weapon in addition to a Staff, Wand, Book, or other Artifact.
They are allowed the Armor and/or Magic Resistance of the Archetype they are representing.
Note: Regardless of Archetype, Magisters gain Summoning as a special ability, which ability to Summon forces 5 at a time in the reverse manner of an Arch Mage. (This is just an RP difference, as the game mechanics are the same in how people are teleported in.) This ability can be used instead of an Arch Mage's teleportation, if no Arch Mage is assigned or if the Magister is assigned as Arch Mage for that Battle.
There are No Racial Restrictions for Magisters.
Also note: It requires a Magister Emeritus or Magus Emeritus (Retired Magister or Magus) or someone of higher rank (active Magister or The Magician) to build a Metaliki Power Orb, or to place a soul into one that has been built. This is a highly strenuous effort and requires an immense degree of skill; it cannot be performed by just anyone.
-- Magister Apprentice
Magister Apprentice is the Jack of All Trades for every class. They can fill any slot on the battlefield at High Mage level OR they can play at level 5.5 of their chosen class. They get the weapon of whatever class they are playing at that time OR an Archetype level weapon of their class type. They are the Initiate class of the Conclave and serve the Conclave as enforcers, arbitrators and judges.
-- The Experts
Dragon Regent - The Dragon Regent is responsible for providing guidelines and teachings on dragons in the GA realms, and can speak to questions that individuals may have concerning the various dragonkin races.
Shapeshifter Regent - The Shapeshifter Regent is responsible for providing guidelines and teachings on shapeshifters in the GA realms, and can speak to questions that individuals may have concerning the various shapeshifter races.
