Introduction
Vendui Jal,
Welcome to the Sixth Edition of the Rules of Engagement.
This Basic Section contains the basics of our inter-sim role playing rules. This first Page will discuss a few 'across the board' subjects. After the first two pages (1. Introduction and 2. Battle), the only pages you will need to read are the ones directly related to your own character - unless, of course, you are a Judge or a Commander. My apologies to you. *smiles softly*
The first and foremost thing to remember is that all of this is about having fun. It is not to impose rules where rules are not needed; it is simply to include magic and magical beings and still provide a level playing field so that no one is Overpowered (hereafter noted as OP) and everyone has FUN.
That being said, it is important that everyone polices themselves and their own troops (in the case of a Commander).
Respect one another on and off the battlefield. We are all play partners and should interact with friendly competition and good sportsmanship. No OOC (Out of Character) name calling, badgering, swearing, god-modding, or other unsportsmanlike conduct.
If you feel someone is breaking a rule, don't attack them on it. Report it to a Judge and let them handle it.
Do not try to 'Beat the Meter' or the Rules. If you do see a way to abuse a particular Rule, then please take it to a Judge so it can be properly handled.
A player may ONLY wear ONE HUD at a time. This means even if you are a Paragon you cannot wear all three of your available classes at once. (This does not count race huds. You may wear both one class hud and one race hud at the same time.)
The RoE can be used as a Guideline or basis for SIM rules, but it is designed for inter-sim combat role play. This means that you should use your best judgment in matters. If you have a concern, use your Chain of Command.
Let all know... Let those who read this and the pages to come after this know:
These rules are set forth and written in place by The Magician.
