Paragons - Eldritch Knight
The Eldritch Knight is a follower of two paths, mixing martial combat skills with magical spells. Taking to the path of mage, then warrior. Though this may seem similar to the Samuraii and the sub classes of that class, they are not. Samuraii classes have a focus to use their weapon to perform magical feats whereas an Eldritch Knight needs no weapon to focus. They cast in the same manner as a mage. Yet their double training allows for them just as easily to dispatch foes with ease in martial combat. Allowing them to deal equally with physical opponents using spells of fire, while also being able to dispatch casters up close and personal.
Their magic is empowered with Runes, and using inscriptions as their power. Should they wish to conjure their weapon they inscribe the rune upon that which they wish to draw the weapon from. For element conjuring they would draw the symbol(s) with that element in some form.
Due to the study and use of magic, they gain D2 on the meter from light chain armors or enchanted clothes.
They use M1 on the meter for Magic Resistance.
They can use the Quarter Staff as always. They can train in one chosen weapon. This is often a melee weapon to combat spell casters on the FoB. They can summon a powerful weapon as they progress. An Eldritch Knight that comes from an Elementalist background would summon a weapon from the elements, while a Necromancer might summon one from the void.
Eldritch Knight Class Combinations are:
-- Mage/Warrior: Bone Caster
A powerful warrior using runes and carvings to create items needed as they see fit. Carving into a stick to make it a powerful weapon. Placing runes on a rope to enchant it to wrap around their opponents. Fixing runes to their armor or an item to create more protection for themselves.
-- Mage/Caviler: Runesmith
In close ability to the Bone Caster. The Rune smith focuses on items and weapons that aid in their mounted abilities and specialties. Placing runes on horseshoes to increase their mounts ability to stay firmly on slick ground, or to increase the speed of their mount.
-- Spell Sword/Mage: Transient Centurion
A stout defender in nearly any situation. Calling upon magical abilities to enhance their weapons further. Combining the arts learned from fighting and focusing energy. Allowing them to channel more and aid in giving mana more than a spell sword alone.
-- Samurai/Mage: Zen Spirit
Very similar to the Transient Centurion yet drawing their energies from a well within, often called Chi, or Ki. Maintaining a strong inner will power and focus that is project outwards.
At rank 4.3 They hold the title Mage Knight
At rank 4.4 They hold the title Rune Knight
At rank 4.5 They hold the title Eldritch Knight
